3rd Anniversay

Yesterday, Todd and I celebrated our third anniversary! I am so grateful to Todd for being the wonderful and loving husband he is!

It is fun to look back at our wedding, honeymoon, and anniversaries.

From our first date, I noticed how Todd makes me feel so comfortable that I can be myself around him.  Also, he helps me enjoy life, pushes me to be my better self, as well as be more adventurous.  He has a deep respect and love for the women in his life, has a strong passion for learning and reading books, in addition to going on adventures.  There is something about Todd that bring laughs and joy to me each day.  I am grateful for his fine example of being a worthy priesthood holder and a hard worker. I love him dearly and look forward to each morning that I get to wake up beside him and begin a new day.

To many more years and adventures! I love you Todd!

Women's Conference

Last weekend, Jill and Susan stayed at our home while they attended Women's conference.  We were happy to have them here and be able to visit with them.  Grandma is always so good to Madelyn.

Thursday night, Todd, Madelyn, and I met Jill, Susan, Annette, and Heidi at Cafe Rio for dinner.  Annette and Heidi had come into town for women's conference as well. We were able to have two first time meetings: Madelyn met Aunt Annette and I met Heidi.  Annette gave Maddie some darling farm animal puppets, which she just loves!
(We did not have our camera at Cafe Rio, so I grabbed these pictures from Heidi's Facebook)

Music Maddie

When Uncle David left, he gave Madelyn his ukulele.  She loves to pluck and beat on it.  Then a friend who I visit teach gave Madelyn a xylophone.  She hits the keys and loves to hear the sounds.  So now she likes to play the piano, drums, ukulele, and xylophone.

Antelope Island Camp Out

Last weekend, Todd went with the Teachers and Deacons for a camp out at Antelope Island.  Todd said they had delicious dutch oven meals.

They saw quite a bit of wildlife like wolves and buffalo.

Also, they stopped at the ranch as well as went on a hike.

Some of the boys were even brave enough to jump in the cold, salty lake and were attacked by nats.

David's Graduation Weekend

We had a wonderful weekend celebrating David's graduation from BYU.

Also, we celebrated Dad and Mom as they were graduating from having all 9 children graduate from BYU.  What an accomplishment! I told them that they deserve to have a brick or a plague with their name on it somewhere on campus.

Thursday was the Convocation and Madelyn's first graduation. Afterwards, Dad took us all to Outback Steak House for the traditional graduation dinner.

After the Friday graduation, we hosted a graduation party with pizza, root beer floats, and cake.  Uncle Gene was able to bring Grandma as well as Uncle Gordon.

Since Mom and Dad were also graduating from children being in college, we presented them with their names on the cake, letters from us kids thanking them for supporting our education, as well as an Outback gift card.
Grandma Fuller presented David with this $100 bill for graduation!

The rest of the weekend, we spent visiting and packing David.  We headed to a park to see Mike and Ta and play with their cute boys.  Congrats to Michael for graduation as he becomes Dr. Shurtz!  They will be heading to Tucson, AZ.
Saturday evening, we had dinner with many of the Fullers and visited with Uncle Gerald.

We helped David clean and move out of his apartment, pack for his Jerusalem Study Aboard, as well as re-organize all of his things so he can easily move to Houston when he returns.  Also, David said goodbye to the old blue car as it lasted exactly as long as we needed it to.  It broke down three days before David was flying out.

We had a wonderful time visiting with my parents.  Dad was great to watch Madelyn, play with her, and take her on a walk.  He is a great Grandpa. Mom was so good to buy us beautiful plants, help us in the yard, as well as teach us how to gel stain.

Yard Improvement

When my parents came for a visit, we knew we would be busy with David's graduation. But my Mom made sure to squeeze in some yard improvement time.  She is a true inspiration. Before their visit, I did not truly have a vision for our yard.  But now with her help, I have been so excited to get to work and turn our yard into a beautiful landscape.

Maddie came outside to approve of the work.

This is just one area that we worked on.  Above is the before. To the right is the after.  We weeded it, planted bushes, added rocks, and laid mulch.

All About Madelyn's 8th Month

Madelyn loves to help Todd water the yard.

She finally learned to enjoy just sitting in the grass.

Recently she really loves to clap.  I see her frequently clapping. (She is clapping even at this moment of typing.)

Madelyn is still the content, happy little girl.

We have some hair to do pig tails!

But they are a little hard to see with her blonde hair.

This was one of those cold mornings were we stay in our bathrobes most of the day.

She is a little young to be pulling a Cinderella on us, don't you think?\

Madelyn started crawling a few days before her 8th month birthday.

Madelyn's first few days of crawling led to her getting into trouble.  I had put the Easter basket down by the hallway to put in the closet next time I walked that way.  However, Maddie got to it first before I did.
