Tulip Festival

Welcome to the Tulip Festival! It was a little more of a cold Spring day, but we decided to go ahead and brave the cold.

Jill and Hailey came down to visit for the weekend.  Friday afternoon, we went to the Women's Expo for free bread, good shopping deals, as well as enjoyed wandering through tons of jewelry, purses, make-up, and everything else related to being a woman!  We had a wonderful afternoon.  Todd even made a short appearance as he helped carry Maddie with us exploring the exhibits.

 I loved the rainbow colors!

I know Todd enjoyed the festival since he went with his favorite women in his life---mother, wife, niece, and daughter.
As it started warming up a little and the wind died down, we were able to get Madelyn out of the stroller.

During our afternoon tour, we had wind, a little bit of rain, clouds, and sunshine---all types of weather to make our visit exciting.

It was so fun to go as a family.

I know Madelyn loved the flowers.  But I could not tell if she liked looking at them or eating them.  I just hoped that tulips were not dangerous to eat!

We had to make sure to give Todd a few "manly" photos since it was very much a women's weekend.

Last time we were there, we did not see the Secret Garden.  So this was fun to discover a "secret garden".

That Saturday, Thanksgiving Point was having Holland Day.  They had wooden shoes to try on as well as music, vendors, and of course, tons of tulips!  Jill and I had never had a churro, so we stopped and got some. Definitely, not from Holland, but still yummy.

What a nice outing!

Easter

On Easter Morn, we put Maddie Jane's new dress on that Grandma Fuller gave her.
Then we enjoyed church service and headed to the Fishers.  We had a family Easter dinner and a Easter Egg hunt.

We were lucky to have a beautiful day, and the kids were so excited for the hunt.

Daddy helped her find some eggs.

The men stood by watching as they were the ones that hide the eggs.

Jill always does an excellent job making Easter dinner delicious, giving each child a new outfit, and prepping the eggs for the hunt.  Thank you!

We had Maddie practice playing and picking up the eggs.  She performed well and picked up those eggs.

Hailey and Christopher found lots of eggs!

After the picture, we headed over to the next egg hunt done by Grandma Fisher.

At this hunt, Maddie had a egg stolen right out of her hand by a little boy.  But Todd was the protective father and made sure the kid gave the egg back.
We got Madelyn a "big girl toy" since she has outgrown her baby toys and needed something new to learn.

David came over the next day and we had him do his egg hunt inside.

27.08

I ran the Rex Lee 5k Run this morning.  27.08 was my time as well as the temperature outside.  Definitely my worst time ever, but it was below freezing and snowing.  Plus it has been two years ago and one baby later since my last 5k.  My time will only get better as well as the temperature.  It was one of the most memorial 5ks I have done.

Developing Skills

Madelyn has really developed her talents within this past month.  She has learned how to clap, wave, and shake her head no.
A little story about that---I was talking to Mom on the phone about mops.  She could hear Maddie in the background and said, "One day, she will be helping you mop."  So I said to Madelyn, "One day you will help Mommy with the mopping."  Maddie shook her head no.  I asked her again, and she once again shook her head no.  She apparently does not like to mop.  Maybe instead she will like to clean bathrooms.

Madelyn is learning how to play percussion.  She started with one drum and has added on.

She loves to be on her stomach and is on the verge of crawling.

I love how the Todd and David both wore aprons while eating Sunday dinner! How cute!

I am finishing up making Sunday dinner.

 Falling asleep at the table

First Day at the Park and Softball Game

We were excited as the weather has been warming up so Madelyn could have her first day at the park.  We took a walk, saw the ducks, then enjoyed the park.

Afterwards, we headed to UVU to watch a softball game and go see Todd.

We love being able to go spend time with him while he is at work!

Our Family during February

 During this month...

Todd helped craved the pot roast on Valentines Day.

Maddie Jane continues to love baths.  As she grows, her kicks are getting some pretty big splashes.

We stopped at Scheels to see this new store.  The topical fish aquarium was really neat as well as the stuffed animals.

We want to go back to ride the Ferris Wheel.

Madelyn showed Great Grandma Fuller how well she eats as well as is learning how to feed herself.

She is a great help with the kitchen utensils. Today, she learned how to drum using a measure cup and cool whip bowl.

Madelyn learned how to wave on the 22nd, while visiting Grandma and Papa last weekend.  She uses both her fingers and wrist when she does it.
