Aspen Grove Part I

We enjoyed a marvelous week spending it with the Fisher family. Aspen Grove is a great place to have a family reunion as well as a great relaxing vacation.

The Aspen follies was where each family competed in various teamwork games. In this picture, we were trying to fill up this leaky garbage can.  We used our fingers to plug up the holes.  Also, to make it go faster, we put Aiden and Jaxson in it.  It was very cold water! Poor guys!

The cabins are set in beautiful wooden area.  We took Maddie to a playground.

The kids were divided up into age groups and performed cheers and songs during the evening programs.  Madelyn's group was the Rompers.

Inside of our cabin, Maddie loved to explore the new area.

We tried to sign up for as many things as possible.  I enjoyed getting the opportunity to do some many new things. We shot rifles, played paintball, mini-golf, and racquetball, as well as did archery.

Todd was in three tournaments.  He, Adam, and Roger played in the 3 on 3 basketball tournament.  Then Todd and I played badminton.  Roger and Todd then played tennis---all in the same day too.

We took Madelyn swimming for the first time. She was very curious and looked around a lot.  I think she really enjoyed it.

By dinner time, Madelyn was passed out since she had so much fun during the day.

During Frontier Night, we took a train ride.  Also, they had different stations of games we went around to play as well as a miniature town to visit.

Todd learned how to use a whip, threw tomahawks and knives.  We played pioneer games.

The entire family was thrown into jail.

We made sure to stop at the tepee since Maddie loves to play the drum.  She liked playing a real Indian drum.

We also visited the general store, bank, and post office.

Madelyn climbed on the stage coach.

Afterwards, Jaxson and Aiden came over for a visit to play with their cousin.  I enjoyed getting to know the nieces and nephews better during the trip.
