Play Time at 15 Months

I love how sweet Madelyn is.  She loves to blow kisses, even makes the sound that goes with it.  Plus, she  always makes sure to wave goodbye too.  You can really feel her sincere love.
Todd is so good to read with Maddie and teach her.  I am amazed by how much she learns.

 Madelyn shows off her teeth!
They love to snuggle up, both in their bathrobes, and read.
Madelyn enjoys escaping while getting dressed for the day to start playing.
Todd thinks it is funny to watch her sleep right on her face.
Maddie Jane continues her garbage exploring, as she grabbed a banana peel and started eating it.

Last Few Warm Days

As we knew winter was approaching soon, we tried to take advantage of every warm day we had.  We love going to the park and swinging.
During Todd's lunch, we head to the trail to run.
We always have to stop and visit the ducks.
We are blessed to have Todd be able to come home during lunch and go play for a few minutes!
Madelyn loves walking on the trail and being outside.

Halloween---Our first trip of trick or treating as parents

Happy Halloween! Though Madelyn shouldn't really know that much about Halloween, when she woke up, she was very excited.  I had to chase her down the hall with her PJs half on, half off just to get her dressed in the morning.  Kids must have an inner feeling of the Halloween excitement.
When Todd woke up, we had a nice family breakfast together eating jack-o-burgers.  We even had a spider drop down from the fan and join our breakfast.  At noon, I took Madelyn and we attended a work Halloween party.  I always enjoy seeing all my former co-workers.  There, Maddie began her trick or treat, lesson, as she learned to take a candy out of the bowl.  It was amazing to see just how quickly she picked it up.
When Todd came home from work, then the next party began.  We ate chili and scones.  Our first trick or treaters came at 3:45, then 5:45, and continued.  Glad I had my candy bowl ready to go the night before.  Then we put our costumes on and headed out the door.  Todd was a red neck, Joe Dirt, Madelyn was our lady bug, and I was the bug catcher.

The neighbors loved our cute Madelyn and Todd's mullet and hill billy teeth.  For it being Maddie's first trip out, she did really well.  She didn't cry or get scared.  So I think we must have done a successful job on our first trip out for trick-or-treating.

Todd's Business Trip to California

Normally, Todd does not have to travel for work.  But we were all excited when he came and said he had to go to California.  It was a quick trip, just one night, yet I told him to take lots of pictures for me.
Todd's business meeting was in the morning at the hotel.
Then he headed to the beach for the afternoon.

After playing at the beach, he took a jog along the coast and walked down the pier.

Then it was time to come home.  What a beautiful day in California!

Halloween Party

October 1st, we started the month off right with the Fisher Halloween party.  We enjoyed our hay ride out to the pumpkin patch.  Todd and Adam did their parts well as they jumped out to try and scare us.
Madelyn picked out our pumpkin.

The kids did donuts on a string as well as played Don't Eat Pete.

Our Maddie Jane's favorite part of the party was being passed around by everyone that wanted to hold her and play with her.  She loved her snuggle time with Papa.

Gardening and Canning

This year we tried to learn more and work harder on our garden as well as canning foods.  In May, we prepped the soil and planted the garden.
Then we enjoyed the vegetables of our labor.  We had tomatoes, summer squash, zucchini, jalapeno peppers, bell peppers.  The peach trees grew bigger this year, but was not quite ready for producing.  Also, we planted blackberries and strawberries.
Madelyn was a great helper---she enjoyed the eating part mostly, whether it was tomatoes, zucchini, or dirt from the garden.
Then the next phrase started.  We started canning and freezing.  We bottled tomato juice and spaghetti sauce. We froze salsa, squash, zucchini, corn, peaches, jalapeno peppers and stuffed bell peppers.

Then we canned peaches, pears, and grape juice.  It was really nice to have Todd be enthusiastic about doing all this, and he was always willing to help.  Also, we were so blessed to have family and friends share with us peaches, pears, grapes, tomatoes, and corn. Thank you!

To Grandmother's House We Go

Rebecca and Debbie wanted to make sure they visited with Grams while they were out here. So we enjoyed seeing Grams and Gordon several times during the weekend.

Uncle Gordon was sweet to take us out to lunch.

Madelyn loves to play with the big stuffed dog at Grams' house.
We loved having Aunt Deb and Becca come see us! Thanks for coming!

Stewart Falls Hike

On Saturday, we took Rebecca and Debbie to see the Fall leaves while hiking Stewart Falls in Provo Canyon.  Todd was a great daddy to carry Madelyn.

We had a lovely day and found some red and yellow leaves.
The waterfall had a nice mist to cool us off and was very beautiful.
