Happy 3 Months!

We are so blessed to have this little girl in our family.  Madelyn truly brings joy to us each day.  She teaches us patience and provides laughs for us as we watch her reactions.  Though she has only been with us for 3 months, we are grateful that we will have her for eternity.

Time to hold on...

See this sweet thing?
 Who me?
Yes, you---Madelyn has begun to really hold on to everything she can get her hands on.
Like her play rings as well as her wash cloth while in the bath
Once she mastered that, I pulled a trick taught to me by my mother, and started pulling "toys" out of the kitchen drawers.  Maddie currently loves to hold the tablespoon.
She even has learned how to hold on while she's asleep.

A Snowny Day to Play

I love how the snow seems truly magical.  With our first real snowfall of the year, our backyard is an enchanted wonderland.  Our tree looks like a flame with the bright oranges popping out against the white snowy background.  The air has a beautiful peaceful silence about it.

Maddie put on her polar bear bundler (Thanks to Aunt Christine) and entered the enchanted snowy land for the first time in her life.

It was so precious to see snowflakes land on her nose.

Afterwards, we snuggled her in her warm blanket as she drifted off to sleep.

Halloween

Madelyn's first Halloween costume: A Dinosaur.
(Thanks to my great sister-in-law for providing us with years worth of costumes.)
She was the cutest little girl Dino you could ever imagine.

We decided to let her enjoy her costume for only a few minutes since it was so warm outside---70s!  That evening, I had her asleep in bed at 6:03pm! I thought "Wow!This will be an easy night since she is already bathed and asleep."  Then at 6:05pm, we had our first trick-or-treaters come, and the constant door bell ringing kept waking her up.  I decided not to worry and just let her stay up, since she was excited to see so many visitors at our door.  All the kids said, "what a cute baby!"

Costume Party

Mike, Ta, Alden, and Calvin as well as David came for a costume party,
 games,
 frosting cookies,
pumpkin bowling,
 visiting...
and just being festive for Halloween.
